A year has passed since the world went into quarantine. A year has passed since IYMS 2020 in Croatia had to become an online Summit. Despite the challenges we were facing all over the globe, only able to communicate virtually and isolated in our homes, we were able to create seven impactful films that told our stories and experiences during this pandemic. We continued creating across borders again, showing the importance of film and storytelling, especially when the world is suffering.

Soon we can start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, the situation has not yet improved enough for all of us to meet in Croatia for this year’s Summit. However, we still believe in the importance to keep learning, to keep creating and to keep inspiring change through film and media as the world makes its way out of this crisis and starts to heal.

This year’s Summit will again be organized by the Croatian Film Association and will be different from our usual event (and from last year’s virtual event). We will be focusing on community, on education, on filmmaking and sharing our stories, experiences and achievements. We hope that you will join us for this special edition, these 11 days of inspiring talks, unique and creative workshops, enlightening meetings and independent filmmaking.
